Our beloved sexton of 28 years, David Murray, is retiring from his position of sexton at St. Paul’s.  Please join us for a luncheon buffet at 1:00 p.m. to thank David for his long and loyal service and to wish him Godspeed.

Lenten Friday House Church This Week

We will discuss chapters 4 & 5 from the book “The Last Week:  What the Gospels Really Teach About Jesus's Final Days in Jerusalem” by Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan.  All interested may attend any or every Friday, may read the book ahead or join in the discussion and fellowship without having read the book.  Childcare will be provided.  The House Church is at 6:30 at the following locations: March 12 the Kelley home, March 19 at Jim Margolis’ home, and March 26 at the Star/Coggeshall home. 2010 Rockin’ Auction: “A Night at the Movies”

AUCTION FACT: Did you know that St. Paul’s raised over $1000 at last year’s auction from food related donations alone? Let’s try to beat this year- consider the following ideas:

The following genre roles are being sought:

Foreign Films: Babette’s Feast:  provide a home cooked dinner, host a tea in the Lichtenberger room.

Classics: Picnic: provide a catered picnic, pack-up a picnic basket w/ treats.

Family: Ratatoullie: got a favorite family recipe to show-off?  Consider donating a soup for a season or a specialty dessert.

Comedy: Mystic Pizza:  Know a great pizza joint?  Pick-up a gift certificate to donate or provide a gift basket of pizza themed fixin’s.

Drama: Diner: Host a diner themed party or BBQ hangout.

As part of the M.O. P. speakers series, the Rev. Kathy McAdams will be here to preach at the 10 amservice on Sunday, March 21.  She will give a brief presentation at about her ministry with the homeless in Boston at coffee hour.

Baptisms at Easter Vigil

Charles River Deanery Vacation Bible School

Our deanery is planning its first Vacation Bible School for the last week in June (June 28 –July 2) at Trinity, Newton Center. Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate; ages 5 to 12 for campers, ages 13 and 14 for counselors-in-training, and 15 and up for counselors. Our curriculum will be built around the Millennium Development Goals. The format that week will be Monday through Friday from 8am until 3pm, with an extended day option until 5:50pm. Please stay tuned for details on this exciting new deanery initiative.
