Dear Fellow St. Paul’s Parishioner,
We have spent the last few weeks in deep conversation about our financial support of our spiritual home – St. Paul’s. We have talked about the deep joy we find in this place, and how we might dream and plan for new ways of fostering that joy by responding in gratitude. In a climate that fosters the fear that we do not have enough, we have dared to dream that, working together, we can gather the needed resources to do the work God calls us to do. All God asks is that we share with one another in the same way God shares with us.
Our financial stories are as unique as we are. Some of us have been profoundly affected by the financial downturn of the last two years. Others are better off than we thought we would be. Many of us have refocused our finances to reflect our priorities for our families, health, and communities. Many of us have given sacrificially to this place, laying the foundation for the new beginning we are enjoying now. All of us can’t (and shouldn’t!) give the same amount, but we can all give as much as will transform us and our community.
We invite you to ask yourself what a transformational pledge means for you? Can you increase last year’s pledge by 10%? Can you take a step closer to a tithe, or 10% of your income? Can you meet your pledge level from last year even if it was more than you expected to be able to do this year? Whatever the amount, we invite you to do the unexpected, and perhaps the unimaginable. Whatever our total, we will continue do the work God gives us to do with the resources God gives us.
Please fill out the enclosed pledge card and bring to church on Sunday. We will collect all the pledge cards and offer them to God in great thanksgiving. To find out how to set up an automatic pledge payment, please be in touch with one of us.
We thank you in advance for your faithfulness in caring for St. Paul’s. We look forward to seeing how it is God calls us into deep transformation together as a beloved community of God!
Faithfully,
Steve Morrissey Darragh Griffin Madeleine Taylor

Stewardship Prayer:
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for all you have given us in our daily lives. We thank you for the community of St. Paul’s which you have entrusted to our care. We know that, with you, all things are possible. Help us to share your dream for this place and to share our resources of time, and talent and treasure to make that dream a reality. AMEN.
