Honduras Mission Meeting, Dec 11, After church.

St. Paul’s has participated in Mission trips to Honduras for many years.  Planning for a summer 2012 Honduras Mission needs to begin soon and there are a number of questions to be answered by the parish about our participation.  We welcome anyone who has an interest in St. Paul’s Honduras Mission, whether you are considering being part of the travel team, the support team, or an interested parishioner, to come and help mold the Honduras Mission to be one that is truly St. Paul’s.

Poinsettias!-Order Now

Each Christmas the church is decorated with Poinsettias given in memory or in honor of someone. If you would like to contribute to these memorials, please complete the form in this bulletin or contact Lucy (office@

stpaulsbrookline.org or 617-566-4953). The deadline is December 19.

Greening of the Church, December 17

Come help decorate the church for Christmas.  We’ll be making the huge wreath for the sanctuary, wreaths for all the doors, and candle holders for the windows.  Meet at the Great Hall from 10:30 am to 1 pm on Saturday December 17th.  Contact Steve Estes-Smargiassi (617-522-0752) or Betsy Munzer  (617 277 5880)for more information.

Candle light Carols Service

Sunday, December 18 at 5:00 PM. Preludes will begin at 4:40 PM.

This service, based on the Lessons and Carols tradition, is a special moment in our church year, when we come once again to the threshold of the Christmas promise. Candlelight Carols is in many ways just what it says it is: there are many candles and many carols, as well as a fullness of hope and

wonder. Please make this service a part of your December tradition, too!

”Blue Christmas” Service on The Longest Night

Join us on the longest night of the year, December 21, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel for a meditative service. ‘Blue Christmas’ allows us to find a calm and quiet place to contemplate our lives and families, the year just past, the one to come, and is for anyone for whom Christmas isn’t all “Merry.”

Note: St. Paul’s office will be closed from Dec 22 to Dec 29.
