This new addition to our Lenten schedule will include a combination of readings, prayers, hymns, and the choir's singing of the Mozart Requiem.

The Five Sundays in Lent

March 13, 20, 27 and April 3, 10

Sunday morning services at 8:00 in the Chapel and 10:00 in the sanctuary.   The first Sunday in Lent will begin with the Great Litany. Each of the remaining Sundays in Lent will begin with the Penitential Order.

Holy Week

Holy Week is the culmination of our Lenten journey as it moves us through the events of Jesus’ final days on earth. It begins with Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem; marks his betrayal and arrest; allows us to sit at the foot of the cross and the empty tomb; and delivers us, once again triumphant at the empty tomb and Jesus’ resurrection.

We encourage you to attend as many of our services during Holy Week as you can. It is a powerful experience to walk this week together, and makes the glorious “Alleluias” on Easter that much more joyful. Childcare will be available for these services. Please contact the office if you will need childcare so appropriate arrangements can be made.

The Sunday of the Passion: Palm Sunday

Sunday, March 28 at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.

A grand procession of Palms begins in joyful remembrance of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. In the course of the service, we move into the solemnity of Holy Week.

Way of the Cross with Eucharist

Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m.

The Way of the Cross is a poignant way to experience the journey of Holy Week. As we move together to each station, we are moved by the words and imagery reminding us of Jesus’ journey to the cross. This simple liturgy is followed by Holy Communion gathered together around the altar.

Tenebrae

Wednesday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Based on the monastic services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, this beautiful liturgy uses light and word to move us through death’s temporary win over life, and reminds us of life’s ultimate triumph.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m.

This service takes us through the events on the night before Jesus’ death.   We wash each other’s feet to remember Jesus’ own act of service and love. The Holy Eucharist recalls the first Eucharist when Jesus commanded us, “Do this in remembrance of Me.” We move into the Parish Hall to share an Agape Meal, a simple offering of soup, and bread, meant to invoke Jesus’ last meal with his disciples. The service ends with the Stripping of the Altar, a powerful symbol of Jesus’ betrayal and arrest.

3:00 p.m. Children’s Good Friday Service

An age appropriate liturgy to help children to experience the mystery and hope of Holy Week

7:00 p.m. Good Friday Liturgy

This evocative service brings us to the foot of the cross. We end in silence as we begin our wait for the resurrection.

Easter Services

Saturday, April 23

7:00 p.m. The Great Vigil of Easter

This service begins with the lighting of the New Fire of Easter and processes inside to hear the ancient accounts of God’s saving work in the world. In this service we move from Lent into Easter, from death to resurrection. Please bring your bells to the Vigil to join in this joyful noise of praise and thanksgiving. With this sound and the shout of “Alleluia! Christ is Risen!” we begin our great celebration of the Resurrection – the first Eucharist of Easter.

Sunday, April 24

9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday of the Resurrection

Easter is here! We’ll celebrate in grand style with two Festival Eucharists. Come join us as we sing, “Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!”

10:00 a.m. St. Paul’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Between the services, children are invited to hunt for Easter Eggs on the lawn of the church.

Easter Flowers

As has been St. Paul’s custom in recent years, there will be no flowers on the altar during the Lenten season. However, for those wishing to offer memorials or thanksgivings with lilies and other flowering bulbs on the altar on Easter Sunday, please e-mail the information to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
