Easter Sunday and Second Sunday of Easter - April 12 and 19, 2009
Lord_is_risen_indeed_Alleluia_web

The dawn of a new day...God's unshakable and outrageous love...

the fullness of joy...the death of death...

the Lord is risen indeed...Alleluia!

Daily meditation from Episcopal Relief and Development

Here's a final meditation from ERD that was emailed April 4:
Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread. Luke 24:35

People need to talk when important things happen. We must make a story out of the events in our lives, discern the manner in which they fit together, or the randomness of life overwhelms us. And, when terrible things happen - even life-threatening things, physical things, events demanding a practical and immediate response - we continue to need to make a story of it in order to get through it.

There are many stories of poverty, hunger and suffering in the world, but some stories have a happy ending. Along with you and our partners on the ground, Episcopal Relief & Development makes a difference in the lives of men, women and children who are able to tell others how their lives have been changed for the better.

Gifts to the St. Paul's goat basket during Lent will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development's goat project to help with happy endings. The basket will be out on Easter, then the donations will be counted, and we'll let you know the results in an upcoming Calendar.

Rockin' Auction: The Band's All Here

Which is to say, we have booked live entertainment for our Cabaret! The auction is really getting going with local merchants stepping up and generous contributions from you. Thanks! Among other things, this year we will be offering a private handbell concert for your holiday party, Red Sox Tickets, a Meditation Collection, and gift certificates from favorite Brookline eateries, like Baja Betty's. There are items to fit every budget and we're planning a party to bring down the house. So please come, invite friends-we'll see you on May 9th at 6:30.

To make a donation please contact Beth Chapman at: 617-566-8650 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
