Join us for a special talk and demonstration of Aikido, a martial art of peace and reconciliation, with Lia Suzuki Sensei, 7th dan, Director of Aikido Kenkyukai International USA (https://www.lia-suzuki.com). Lia Sensei (teacher) and Won-Jae Hur, rector of St. Paul's, met while training at William Gleason Sensei's dojo. Lia then moved to Japan, where she trained intensively under Takeda Shihan for 10 years, after which time, she returned to the US to open her own dojos. A highly regarded martial artist and teacher, Lia Sensei teaches traditional Aikido classes to youth and adults at her main dojo in LA and in seminars across the globe. She has also shared her knowledge and expertise in Aikido with underserved populations, such as prison inmates, those recovering from substance abuse, and veterans suffering from PTSD.
