What To Expect
We know that visiting a church for the first time makes many people nervous. At St. Paul's, we do our best to ensure that you feel welcome and comfortable here. Feel free to ask an usher or greeter (or really anyone you see) for more information about St. Paul’s, or click here to fill out our online newcomer card. Everyone remembers being new and wants to help make sure you are comfortable from the moment you walk through our doors.
WHAT TIME ARE SERVICES ON SUNDAY MORNING?
We have two Sunday Services, all year round. At 8:00 am we have a contemplative service in the chapel or backyard, depending on the weather. Usually attended by 5-15 people, there is no music and the "sermon" is a dialogue. At 10:00 am, we gather for worship with choral music, hymns, and sermon. This service is attended by 100-125 people. Children of all ages are welcome at all services, and there is professionally staffed nursery care each Sunday from 9-11:30 a.m.
HOW LONG DO SERVICES LAST?
The 8 a.m. lasts about 45-50 minutes, while the 10 a.m. service runs a little over an hour.
WHAT ABOUT HOLY COMMUNION?
We celebrate the Holy Eucharist every Sunday at every service. We believe that the Eucharist is food for the journey of life, not a reward for the perfect believer. All are welcome at God’s table.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
Parking is available on St. Paul's, Aspinwall and Perry Streets. There are 2 handicapped parking spaces available; one on St. Paul Street and one on Aspinwall.
DO YOU OFFER PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN?
We offer weekly programs for kids at 9AM. In the service, children of all ages are welcome, too. Squirming and noise from the youngest among us is not only welcome- it’s a part of our culture.
A changing table is located in each restroom on the upper level of the parish house. Sensory kits are available for school-aged children. During the school year professional childcare is available from 9-11:30 a.m. We also have Sunday School in between Sunday services at 9am during the school year as well.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There’s no dress code. Some people dress up in their Sunday best and others show up in jeans and t shirts. Whatever feels comfortable and appropriate for you is fine with us!
