The contemplative practice group at St. Paul's is for people who would like to explore regular contemplative practice and study in some depth both the theological and practical aspects. The contemplative practice group meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm in the Lichtenberger Room.
Our approach incorporates basic Buddhist meditation practices as preparation for Christian contemplative prayer that uses a sacred word as an aid (aligning broadly with Martin Laird's approach explained in Into the Silent Land). The aim is to help us deepen our sense of union with the divine in a fully embodied way, so as to empower our ministry in the world.
