SMALL GROUP MEETINGS CONCLUDED, PARISH PROFILE HAS BEEN WRITTEN, POSITION IS NOW POSTED

Thank you to everyone who attended a small group discussion to tell us your thoughts about St Paul’s. The search committee members found these groups to be very touching and powerful. We hope you did as well. Thanks for being open, honest, and vulnerable in sharing what is in your heart. We have concluded our small groups, but if there is anything you want to add or if you regret not signing up for a small group, please email the search committee at stpaulsbrooklinesearch@gmail.com. We also have produced a parish profile to reflect who we are and who we are looking for in our search. This document is available on this website. Please stop by the bulletin board in the parish hall for information updates on what we have gathered from the small group discussions.

OUR PROCESS TIMELINE

St. Paul leads us on our journey!

Rector Search Committee

In the Spring of 2023, the Vestry identified twelve parishioners to convene a search committee for a new rector.  The Search Committee was commissioned on June 18, 2023 during the 10:00 service by the Interim Rector, Paul Kolbet, and our Senior Warden, Tim Hintz. With help from the Diocesan Consultant, Elinor Horner, the committee began meeting on June 27, 2023 to learn the process and timeline for the rector search and to decide on initial meeting structure.   The Committee continues to meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month from 7:30-9:00pm in the Lichtenburger Room, with an opening prayer and a closing prayer and a clerk taking notes.  The Search Committee will continue to meet until a prospective rector is identified, voted on, and presented to the vestry.

Parishioners and encouraged to pray for the discernment process and the Search Committee members with the following prayer:  Gracious God, you have always filled this parish with your spirit of love and justice, both in times of peace and in the face of adversity.  Continue to fill us with your spirit in this time of transition, granting us patient and faithful discernment during the search for our new rector.  May we cherish everything Saint Paul’s has been while opening our hearts and minds to its future.  We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and eternal shepherd.  Amen.

The members of the search committee are:

Andrea Brue (co-chair), Melissa Dulla (co-chair), Stephen Kerr (vestry rep), Robert Mallery (vestry rep), Jay Ballard, Jim Batchelor, Will Biedron, Marta Cordoba, John Ferguson, Kate Kelley, Sara McKinley, Leahanne Sarlo, and Lena Schultzberg (youth rep).
